The leaves are turning beautiful shades of brown and gold, blackberries fill the hedges and the sun is still shining what more could you wish for.
At the weekend we visited the Wells Food Festival which filled the main Square and all around the Bishops Palace with stalls selling a mouthwatering array of local artisanal food and drink. It was a great day out and we came home with some delicious cheeses, oils, honey from nearby Shapwick and handmade chocolate.
Also running over the first two weeks of October is Somerset Art Weeks showcasing a diverse range of visual arts in 98 venues – a wonderful opportunity to explore the county and meet artists and see their work. I have already taken a trip down to Watchet and the surrounding area and seen some amazingly talented work, followed by a delicious lunch at Woods in Dulverton a very pretty village in Exmoor which is well worth a visit.
We are so lucky to live in this area where there is so much happening and surrounded by beautiful countryside and villages.
