We visited the Hauser and Wirth Gallery in Bruton last week on a beautiful sunny Spring day with clear blue skies. The current exhibition running until the 2nd May is a collection of sculptures and installations by Subodh Gupta which are displayed in the Threshing Barn and outside in the gardens.
After wandering round and enjoying the gallery space we had a delicious lunch in the adjoining Roth Bar and Grill watched over by Mr Hare – highly recommended with it’s eclectic decor and buzzing atmosphere.
No trip to Bruton should be without a stroll around the local independent shops and in particular a visit to Philllips and Skinner a shop packed full of unique vintage finds and some lovely bags and my favourite – Frou Frou clothes. The Chapel opposite is another good spot for a meal and has a superb on site bakery where you can buy freshly made bread, pastries and cakes.
